InsighT meditaton 'Mindfulness'

Using Video conferencing

We are temporarily moving to an online format during the covid-19 situation. We will meet in this format until we can once again gather together in person!

Insight Scottsdale is now offering online meditation and community via Zoom. You can use Zoom on your computer, ipad or smart phone. For a video on how Zoom works click here.  If you don’t have access to a web browser you also can call via your phone.

Offering a Monday Night Sitting

Please click on the  "Zoom Link"  to join the meeting.

Alternatively, you can also call in by phone:  Call in: +1 669 900 6833

It will ask for the meeting ID # (meeting ID's in meeting info below)  and then when it asks for 'participant ID'' or password, just press '#' to skip, and you will enter the meeting.

Drop-in sitting groups are an opportunity to begin or sustain a meditation practice in a welcoming environment. All meetings are appropriate for beginning and experienced meditators.

If you've never used Zoom before, it's advisable to log on to a 'test meeting' in advance; which will allow you to download the application (usually takes just a few seconds) and then check to make sure your video and audio are connected. Then, when time comes for any meeting, all you need to do is click the meeting link! There is no cost involved in using Zoom. We welcome you to our Monday Night Mindfulness Sitting Group, with founding teacher, Genevieve Tregor

We have been meeting together as Insight Meditation Scottsdale, in person, every Monday for the past 6 years. We are temporarily moving to an online video conferencing format until we can meet again in person.

As always, there will be a meditation with some guidance, followed by a Dharma talk and discussion.

Please join the meeting a few minutes before the start time and plan to stay for the entire meeting to support the container for our community time. We ask meditators to respect the space in the same way one would in a physical space by committing to your practice during the meeting and letting go of other activities and distractions. Thank you for supporting your own, and others' practice space in this way.

No prior meditation experience necessary. This is a drop-in, donation-based meeting.

Suggested Donation: $10-$20. No one turned away for lack of funds. All are welcome! Teachings offered in the Insight Tradition are offered on a 'Dana' (generosity) basis with each giving according to their own circumstances in order to support the whole community. The teacher's offering of the Dharma and your offering to the teacher is a relationship of mutual giving and receiving that has supported the teachings and teachers for over 2500 years. Dana is considered a practice which the Buddha taught as a foundation in his graduated teachings to the lay community. Thank you for your generosity and support!

"Simplified video conferencing and messaging across any device" —

Zoom is an easily accessible online meeting tool that most people can learn to navigate with relative ease.

If you are using Zoom for the first time, or feel intimidated in using online tools; please plan to join the meeting a few minutes early or download the application in advance when you have a few extra minutes to test the system.
