The Buddha taught a path to freedom that is available to each of us regardless of life situation or circumstance. Cultivating Mindful Awareness allows us to become intimate with our experience without being driven by reactivity to it; cultivating Loving Kindness supports an availability to all of life as it is, and builds a sense of self-trust and capacity for well-being. Together they enable a greater access to joy and a sense of balance when difficulties arise. 


Join the Scottsdale Sangha ("community") for a nourishing day of silence supported in your practice by an experienced teacher and in community with others. A day of practice, in the container of a retreat, provides a precious opportunity for deepening into the stillness and ease available just beneath the waves of daily life experience. 


The day will include alternating periods of sitting and walking meditation, instructions and guidance in Vipassana (Insight/Mindfulness) and Metta (Loving Kindness) practices, an afternoon session of gentle, mindful Qi Gong and a Dharma talk. This retreat is appropriate for beginning meditators as well as experienced practitioners with a balance of instruction and silence.

Teacher:  Genevieve Tregor

Genevieve has practiced Vipassana meditation since 2008 with an emphasis on long-term retreat practice; she has studied and practiced in depth with senior Western and Monastic teachers in the Insight Tradition, and practiced over a year and a half in intensive silent retreat.


She leads the Insight Meditation Scottsdale sangha and teaches retreats in the Insight Tradition Internationally. She also teaches mindfulness in secular settings (including MBSR) and Qi Gong in the Scottsdale and Phoenix area through her business Solution Mindfulness. For the past four years Genevieve has also served on the Faculty of Jack Kornfield and Tara Brach's International Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Certification Program, mentoring teachers-in-training Internationally. She is trained in the three year Somatic Experiencing (SE) modality for healing trauma, and certified in Radiant Heart Qi Gong by Teja Fudo Myoo Bell.

Bring your own bag-lunch (and a snack to share if you wish),

we will hold Noble Silence throughout the day, and preserve the continuity of practice through the lunch hour. It is strongly encouraged to stay on site for the entire day. A microwave and full-size refrigerator is available to store lunch and snacks. 

Tea, snacks and cold water will be offered throughout the day.

Chairs provided, bring your own meditation cushions or bench if desired. 

Phones should be put away for the day. 

Masks optional, please do not attend if you or anyone in your household is feeling sick.
